New York City Classic:Graffiti Art by Sen2 in der 44309streetartgallery in Dortmund

New York City in den 1980er Jahren: Als der junge Puerto Ricaner Sandro Figueroa Garcia zum ersten Mal in die Stadt eintaucht, lässt ihn die Faszination der gerade frisch entstandenen Graffiti Bewegung nicht mehr los. Als Sen2 kehr er nach Puerto Rico zurück und bemalt ab 1986 mit seiner kurz darauf gegründeten MAD CREW die ersten Wände seiner Heimatstadt, in Puerto Rico damals auch als "Aerosol Art" bezeichnet. Nach einer langen und erfolgreichen Zeit kehrt Sen2 zurück in die South Bronx, wo er aufgrund seiner herausragenden Styles nach kurzer Zeit Mitglied der wohl bekanntesten Graffiti Crew der Welt wird: Tats Cru. Mit der Tats Cru bereist Sen2 den ganzen Globus und arbeitete mitunter an Musik Video Designs für Jennifer Lopez, Nas oder Missy Elliot.

Mitte der Neunziger Jahre arbeitete Sen2 unter anderem als Grafiker für Miss Sixty und Tribal Gear und erfüllte sich den Traum einer eigenen Modelinie aus dem Herzen Puerto Ricos: The Sen2 Collection und DirtyWaters Trade Company. Bis heute gilt Sen2 als einer der wichtigsten Größen der Graffiti Szene. Seine abstrakten Bilder und Designs wurden in Amerika und Europa mehrfach ausgestellt. Seine neueste Ausstellung, ausschließlich Arbeiten aus seinem Studio, stellt die Dortmunder 44309streetartgallery ab dem 15. November bis zum 27 Dezember aus. Die Vernissage startet am Samstag, dem 15. November um 19 Uhr.

Graffiti artist Smog One was born and raised in Paris, France but lives in South Florida right now. He is well known in the Miami art scene for his impressive 3D styles. Smog One is one of the most outstanding creators of this style and his letters look like they´re able to infinitely bend and stretch like floating water through all kinds of objects. Definitely one of the coolest shit right here.

Brooklyn based graffiti artist EwokOne is world-famous for his unique and outstanding letters, perfect colors & effective background styles. Since today his works have been featured in over 100 magazines and books worldwide. Being in business for more than 20 years, this 90s graffiti vandal has become a world-known illustrator whose paintings fetch anywhere in the 10s of thousands of dollars. DAS KRACH: cool electro from Dortmund collaborates with Ghana reggae stars

After his debut ep „SKiNNY LiTTLE BiTCH“ gained much success on the internet in 2013, specially in South America, the electronic music producer DAS KRACH from Dortmund, Germany released his second piece of work in may 2014. 

On „Nairobi Lights“ Bjoern (DAS KRACH) leaves the roots of his debut, on which he combined urban styles like Hip-Hop and Indiepop music with dubstep and electro elements. Instead, he now is focused on cooperations with the reggae star BLACK PROPHET from Ghana as well as with the dancehall artist MAD TURKEY and his former band JERICHO WALLS. With his unique sound he squeezes the african reggae movement into a highly danceable electro format which is based on modern Moombahton & Brostep elements. Nairobi Lights was produced in several situations and different parts of the world. Armed with his MacBook, Bjoern joined Graffiti writers on their nightlife tours, he worked in almost dark subway tunnels as well as 11.000 meters above concrete in airplanes as well as on La Palma island and New York City.
